Neuroscience shows that 95% of your daily decisions are automatic, driven by patterns, many of which were created in the first 7 years of our life.
And unless those patterns are updated, no amount of visualization or positive thinking can make prosperity feel safe.
Here's the kicker:
Visualization alone reduces motivation unless paired with a behavioral scaffold such as pre-planned actions including contingencies for handling obstacles.
That means the #1 tool people use to manifest… is scientifically proven to work against them.

“I've tried everything and nothing seems to work, what's wrong with me?” — A Frustrated Manifester
When your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, your brain shuts down the regions responsible for opportunity, focus, goal-setting, and decision-making.
This is why so many spiritual people say things like:
“I always hit a ceiling.”
“I feel spiritually aligned but physically stuck.”
"I'm tired of working on myself with no results"
"How much inner work do I need before I finally see change?"
The solution isn’t more journaling or affirmations. It’s subconscious rewiring + nervous-system retraining + MCII action planning + Spiritual Coherence Training.
After I spent years of frustration, I finally realized that I was not broken, but the manifestation methods I was using were failing to deliver the promised results over and over again.
These techniques are marketed to us under the pretense of operating with such simplicity and reliability that our lack of results often leaves us feeling even more inadequate and powerless to make meaningful and lasting changes.
I knew there was a solution and it took a lot of trial and effort to discover what it was. If you are anything like me, you are committed to finding a path forward. But first, you need to realize that most of what we were sold, was not based in science, neurology, or the practical use of spiritual laws.
Many high achievers may find that they work harder but the payoff never seems to show up. If it does, it comes with exhaustion because they are literally working non-stop. The truth is no amount of intelligence, hustle, or spiritual alignment can override a subconscious program that is wired for survival instead of success.
The 24/7 Grind Culture is popular but it's not helpful because...
Work becomes a coping strategy that blocks emotional rewiring.
They hit an identity ceiling and then the subconscious mind triggers self-sabotage to align with the identity.
They read books, take courses, hire coaches — but never change the part of the mind that actually controls behavior and outcomes.
They “understand” their patterns — but understanding isn’t transformation.
The solution is not to try harder and hope it works out. It’s subconscious rewiring + nervous-system retraining + MCII action planning + Spiritual Coherence Training.
Working in technology for more than 25 years, I brought into the work-harder grind to climb the corporate ladder. I guess I didn't learn my lesson the first time after having a health scare because some years later in my own business... I repeated the same mistake.
I do a reboot and the pandemic closed my business and forced me to exit the treadmill I was on. In the process of recovering I rediscovered work + passion + play was not only good for my wellbeing. It was good for my bank account.
As I reflect back on what I learned, I know that when we are working hard to "prove something" or earn the right to thrive, that gives the subconscious mind and nervous system the wrong message. Rewiring the brain to find the balance and joy in work and family life is the best path forward.
Even spiritual principals such as … "as a person thinketh in their heart, so shall they be" and "it is done according to your beliefs", give us a clue. But the emphasis on beliefs alone stops short of helping us understand how our subconscious mind and beliefs work and how to change them when they are not aligned with the truth.
Our biological design is nothing less than genius. The fact that our social conditioning has been hi-jacked and plunged into a cycle of chronic stress, fear, scarcity-based beliefs is the real problem we must first address.
You cannot receive, create, or take aligned action if your nervous system is dysregulated (hypervigilance, fight/flight, shutdown). LOA and Positive Thinking ideologies ignore the embodied component of prosperity.
Our mind is a non-physical organ; it is creative and very powerful. Where the sages of the past understood this, science is now starting to prove it. However, we are still operating with old data or theories that have no basis in how we live and experience our lives.
Our brains are the physical interface for our magnificent minds. Understanding and applying what we have learned from neuroscience helps unlock more of our mind's potential.
This one shift in how we approach creating what we want gives us an "outcome-based spirituality" which aligns with the concept of reaping and sewing and faith accompanied by appropriate action. Neuroscience helps us understand why we come up short when using purely metaphysical or self-improvement models.
Visualization and positive thinking (core LOA techniques) often improve optimism but alone produce very limited results unless combined with deliberate practice or planning. Use these tools is not enough to erase the social conditioning and social reality that keeps reinforcing the negatives.
Key evidence / data: Imagery does help performance, but the best effects appear when imagery is used with other psychological skills and active practice (i.e., imagery + training). (PMC) Researchers found that visualization alone reduces motivation because the brain confuses the fantasy with achievement. (PMC)
We know it matters because if clients only visualize but don’t plan for obstacles or build implementation pathways, they often feel motivated briefly then fail when reality demands action — producing shame and learned helplessness.
Problem: LOA focuses on conscious desire and feeling states, but money beliefs are often embedded into the subconscious mind via family modeling and early life experiences (money scripts). These internal beliefs are like scripts that reliably predict adult financial behaviors (spending, saving, avoidance).
Key evidence / data: Money scripts are likely to be transgenerational and condition us with unconscious money beliefs (e.g., money avoidance, money worship, money status) that correlate with poorer financial outcomes (lower net worth, more revolving debt). Practitioner/academic summaries show clinically meaningful links. (Financial Planning Association). Now the lyrics from a popular song start to make perfect sense .... "Them that got shall get, them that not shall lose, so the Bible says and it still is news. Mama may have, daddy may have, but God bless the child that has its own". We must do take actions free ourselves from social and family belief systems about prosperity that were entrained into us when we were young.
We know it matters because if the core problem is an internal script accepted by the subconscious mind (e.g., “money is dirty” or “I don’t deserve wealth”), repeating affirmations won’t disconfirm decades of experiential learning — the subconscious continues to drive decisions.
Problem: LOA rhetoric often implies that failure to manifest equals inner failure; that fosters shame and powerlessness, negative emotions. The very emotions that are likely to negatively affect our biology and behaviors are activated when we buy into these superficial and incomplete models.
Key evidence / data: Reviews and commentaries document potential psychological harms when LOA is taken as moral law → increased self-blame, reduced help-seeking, and worse mood for some people. (Psychology Today)
We know it matters because shame is a powerful motivational brake: it reduces approach behavior, increases avoidance, and lowers self-efficacy — directly counterproductive for goal pursuit and entrepreneurship.
Problem: Manifestation frameworks rarely treat stress physiology — yet chronic and acute stress impairs the parts of the prefrontal cortex that are necessary for planning, risk-taking, goal-setting, being resilient, seeing opportunities where others see problems, and executing projects.
Key evidence / data: Comprehensive meta-analysis shows stress impairs activities associated with the prefrontal cortex, our higher cognitive abilities. (PMC)
We know it matters because if clients are chronically stressed out or anxious about money habituates the survival-mode response in our nervous system. In this state of mind and body, clients cannot reliably plan, take calibrated risks, or sustain the flexible thinking required to pursue opportunities — no amount of “affirmations” will fix neural arousal patterns.
